Epcot Food and Wine Festival Sneak Peek: A Culinary Adventure

We’re at Epcot today for food and wine. Come join us. So the festival hasn’t quite started yet. It’s before 11:00am, but you can already smell all the delicious food. We’re gonna do a loop of World Showcase to get a little bit of a preview before things open up. Luckily, it’s not very crowded this morning, so I think we’re gonna be able to get a lot done today. We headed to the new Communicore Hall, where they have macatizers, which is a new Mac and cheese festival marketplace. Andrew and I split the cheesesteak Mac and cheese, which has beef, peppers, onions, and bread crumbs. It was fairly good, but I think it just wasn’t cheesy enough for me. It was a bit more like steak and noodles. Then we went over to the flavors from Fire Marketplace. We shared the Steakhouse Burger with truffle, Brie cheese, fondue, arugula, and potato chips. I love this burger. It was one of my favorites for the day. Alright, so far, so good. Now we’re gonna go around World Showcase. We start at China for the Shanghai scallion noodles with shrimp. These are great. A solid pick, but just keep in mind it’s not gonna knock your socks off. Flavors of America has a bunch of different hot dogs. Let’s go check them out. We decided to split the Carolina Style, which is a beef hot dog with chili, coleslaw, and mustard on a brioche bun. Although this thing is very Messy. It’s definitely delicious. They got the right kind of soft bun. And these beef franks taste great. Alright, that Carolina Hot Dog was so good. I highly recommend that. Now let’s get some dessert. We head to Swirled Showcase, where they’re using liquid nitrogen to make frozen sweet potato mousse with candy pecans and maple caramel sauce. This is a home run. It’s cold and refreshing and delicious and like a very, very sweet sweet potato pie. You must try this. So that’s what we tried today. Some old and some new, but all delicious. I’ll catch you in the parks.
