Turning the Page: Our Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Journey towards Financial Freedom

explaining why we filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy uh because we needed to get out of all the mess we were in that’s the short story I had a business that went belly up after five years it had started taking tanking in 2020 like end of 2021 beginning of 2022 um really tanked in 2023 and we were in a point where we were using credit cards to keep the business afloat because I thought it would fix itself it was just too much we had a car repossessed we had a credit card company suing us with medical bills from a million different things so uh filing was the only way to stop the hemorrhaging stop the possibility of check being garnished for my husband which they take you know 25 30% of your pay whatever um bank accounts being garnished all of that and um then getting down to the basics we kept our house kept my car kept my husband’s car um we didn’t have any other assets so we weren’t really losing anything and um it was basically the Great Reset for us and now we’re re budgeting learning how to live within our means and really focusing on getting ourselves completely out of debt because we do have student loans we have other things that couldn’t be taken out in the bankruptcy so um yeah main mainly to reset because that’s what it is
