6 Ways to Style a Navy Sports Coat: From Smart Casual to Classic Gentleman’s Uniform

Today I’m gonna show you six ways to style this navy sports coat. So look, No. 1 is smart casual. We have a blue button down shirt with some dark jeans, a brown belt paired with some brown Chelsea boots. Look, No. 2, we’ll stick with the same dark jeans, we’ll swap that button down shirt for a gray knit, and we’ll swap the Chelsea boots for a classic white trainer. Chinos are a simple and great way to elevate a casual look. They are smarter than jeans, but not quite as formal as a pair of suit trousers. Stone or khaki are my preferred colours. With the stone I would go with a dark brown boot, while with the khakis they’re a little bit more versatile. You can wear a black trainer, a white trainer or in this case, a pair of loafers. Look, No. 5 is the classic gentleman’s uniform. The navy sports coat with some grey flannel trousers is an unbeatable combination. Pair this with some derbies and you’re pretty much good to go. If you want it to be formal, you can add a tie. Depending on the dress code, you can take the tie off, swap the derbies for some loafers for a slightly more dress down gentlemen’s uniform. And that’s six ways to style a sports coat.
