I took my girlfriend to Chicago to try out a few restaurants. A few of you ask what restaurants in Chicago what I suggest. So here you go. This is Chicago’s home with chicken and waffles on 39th the King Drive. They are open until nine PM serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They got chicken and waffles, fish and waffles, and a nice variety of soul food sides. We started with a strawberry lemonade for me and a pink lemonade for BAE. Both of the drinks were really good and refreshing. We rate those a 9 out of ten. I got the fried chicken dinner. I chose white meat, which comes with one breast and one wing. It comes with three sides and a piece of cornbread. I got the yams, Mac, and green beans. This plate was $23. They got the two piece catfish, which also came with three sides and a piece of cornbread as well. She got the Mac, yams, and collards. This plate was $25. We started with the Mac. The Mac was like a 7 out of 10 for both of us. It was nice and cheesy and also season well. Now I must say, the yams was the star of the show. We rated these yams a 9 out of ten. The colors were just okay. Didn’t really wow us. We give them a 6.5 out of 10. The green beans were seasoned and very flavorful. We give them a 9 out of ten. The fried chicken was really good. It was seasoned to perfection. It was very flavorful and it was juicy. I give it a 9 out of 10 cause it could have been just a little more crispier. Now I’m giving that catfish a 7.5 out of 10. It’s actually everything that you want in a piece of catfish. The breading is light and crispy on the outside, and it’s so flaky and delicious on the inside. But I had to go with a 7.5 because they were super light on the seasoning. To me, it was like a perfectly fried, bland piece of fish. It’s okay in my opinion. This was just okay to me. It really doesn’t taste like that old school custard on the stove made banana pudding. So I give it a 6 out of 10. Babe gave it a 9 out of ten. She liked it because it was light and not too sweet. We are giving this place an overall rating of 8.5 out of 10. If you ever come to Chicago, check this place out.
