Ruben’s Journey: From Trampoline to Artistic Gymnastics

This is my friend Ruben, and he’s a world champion trampoline gymnast, and he said he wants to switch sports to artistic gymnastics. First, he tried to high bar, and he just got up and scared all of us. No mat slides. How do you know when to let go? I don’t. Then we went to rings, and I was impressed by how strong Ruben was. But we put on some grips, and I told him to try some dismounts. Oh, my god. Now pull back. Yeah! Nice. I told him he needed a little bit more power, and he should try going from the shoulder stand. Oh, and that one wasn’t right, but maybe this one will be better. So rings may not have been his best, but I went on to pommel horse, where I was also really impressed. Why are you so good at everything, Ruben? I spoke too soon. But in all seriousness, Ruben actually did really good on pommel horse, which is impressive because this is considered the hardest event in men’s gymnastics. And then, of course, you went to floor, where Ruben showed us all up. That’s for part two. Oh, my god.
