Labour MP Jas Athwal has been accused of having poor rental conditions for tenants in a block of flats he owns where residents found black mould and an ant infestation but he said that they shouldn’t complain as having ants builds character and they make a healthy snack the MP for Ilford South has come under five for seven of the flats that he owns out of 15 after residents found ants climbing over their children and their clothes in response to the allegations Mr Athwal has put out a statement saying I had no idea it was this bad I must say I use a rental agency to deal with these properties I certainly won’t go anywhere near them they’re disgusting they clearly haven’t been great at their jobs but I did consult with legal advice and they’re pretty much on par for a London landlord should be doing we all suck I’m not an outlier here people plus and I know people hate to hear this but living with some form of infestation rats mice ants it helps build character these povos will be much better at dealing with stuff in their life once they’ve dealt with the ants problem solving they can thank me later I’m Jas Athwal a Labour MP and you thought things would be better most of the tenants were not interested in giving a quote for the story as they were afraid of being evicted by the monstrous Labour MP landlord however one tenant did say it’s hard to live here as the black mold spreads I find myself becoming more transphobic by the day
