An Honest Review of New York Eateries: From Fried Chicken to Pizza to Chili Oxtail

I went to New York on a business trip, as you guys already know. I had a segment on a Tamron Hall show. After I took care of business, I decided to stay for a little extra time to try out a couple of y’all restaurants. Yes, I’m going to give my honest opinion, too. I asked for a list of suggestions, and these are the places people told me to go. The very first stop on the list is Melbourne’s. I got an order of fried chicken wings that came with two sides, and an order of dark meat that came with two sides. An order of oxtail that came with two sides. And these are all the sides. Garlic, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and also sauteed spinach. The Mac and cheese was really good. It was super cheesy. It definitely tastes like some old school Mac. And the greens were decent. They just had a slight sweetness to them that I really didn’t like. I kind of feel like we should have just dined in instead of picking it up. They were very light with the portions on the protein inside. And this oxtail was tender, but disappointing because it looks chopped up and it’s mostly bone. As far as taste, we give everything a 7 out of 10. Portion size and presentation, five out of 10. Melb’s was located in Harlem, and we moved around in Harlem a little further to find a pizza spot. Now this place is called Daddo’s Pizza. Hope I’m pronouncing it right. I like how when you walk in, you can see everything that’s happening in the back. And I peeped the wall. I thought that was very interesting. These were the slices that they had out at the time. We decided to get sausage and pepperoni. She put this Margarita pizza out after I placed my order. But this one look good. I really wanted to try that. I paid twelve dollars and forty five cents for these two slices and honestly I didn’t really like it. It was hot and it had a nice cheese pull to it. But I give that a 2 out of 10 only because I like the crust. After that it wasn’t a lot of flavor. It was really just kind of salty. Then we headed over to Brooklyn. Had to stop by the Okiway store. After watching so many of his videos I had to go check them out but he wasn’t there so they Facetime him for me. I got a chopped cheese on a Jamaican Patty with some chips. The Aki way. Chopped cheese on a Jamaican Patty. The Aki way. Now we rock it up. Omg. Honestly it has so much going on. Me and my girl was surprised that we gave it such a high rating. 9 out of 10. My girlfriend really likes hot pot and Korean barbecue so we stopped at this Place. 99 favorite taste. It said that it was located in lower Manhattan, and it was all right. The broth for the hot pot was pretty watered down. So we get out of three out of 10. But I really like my drink. I had a Long Island. It was strong. I give it a nine out of ten. My girlfriend had a Mai Tai and she gave it three out of 10. I’m really afraid of bridges, and every time I turn around, we were going over a bridge. I don’t even know where we were at right here. But I felt like this bridge lasted for 45 minutes. And I kept looking to my right and I was so scared. Then I finally headed over to the famous cuts and slices, also located in Brooklyn. The customer service was 8 out of 10. And I guess I wanted a good time cause I heard it’s always a long line. And yes, it was not that many people when I came here. You can take a look at their menu. I got the shrimp, lobster and black truffle Alfredo slice. I give this slice a 6.5 out of 10 because the Alfredo sauce was pretty good. Then I tried the jerk chicken slice, and I got the sweet chili oxtail slice. I give the oxtail slice a 6.5 out of ten. The oxtail was tender and delicious. I just don’t think it belongs on a pizza. Then I gave the jerk chicken slice a 4.5 out of 10, cause it wasn’t that much flavor there. Since we passed about 30,000 delis, there’s a deli on every corner. We had to stop by one. I got the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll, and my girl got the sausage, egg, and cheese. The sandwiches were cheesy and the bread was really soft and good. So we give that a 6.5 out of ten. It’s just a regular breakfast sandwich, you know, it was kind of salty to me too. Those were all the places that we had time to try, and I gave our honest opinion. Also, I must add, New York pizza has nothing on Chicago pizza. This is what I’m used to. Italian Fiesta Pizza. If you are a New Yorker and never been to Chicago, please come on down to get some real good pizza. I’m sorry, I had to throw this in to let y’all know something. You see how all of the toppings are, like, melted under the cheese? And it’s not gonna fall off into a crumbly mess when you pick it up, you know, I’m just saying, y’all, don’t beat me up. Chicago pizza is top tier. And real quick, I stopped by the liquor store. I asked the dude behind the counter where y’all pops at. He said, I know you from out of town cause you said pop. Plus, I didn’t know that the liquor stores out here only sell liquor. That’s weird. But I had A lot of fun in New York. Crazy things went down, but, you know, I still cooked it up.
