Craft Party Success: A Guide to Teaching and Hosting Creative Events

people are often shocked when I tell them that I don’t rent a space to teach my craft parties my name is Jessica and I started teaching craft parties in 2016 and have now taught over 500 craft parties there’s actually lots of different ways that you can teach craft parties successfully and lots of different places that you can teach your parties for my public ticketed events I always partner with a local brewery or wine bar or coffee shop to host my party and in exchange I bring in a pop of business for them on a night when they’re otherwise a little bit slow some of the best venues to ask are typically locally owned light food concept places pizzerias coffee shops ice cream shops frozen yogurt Boba list goes on and on the reason that these types of venues work best for craft parties and for selling tickets to craft parties is because most customers who’ve either never been to a craft party or are just a little bit nervous about coming to make something will be a lot more comfortable if they’re familiar with the venue and they at least know what to expect from a pizzeria or an ice cream shop just makes the whole thing a lot less intimidating than going to the community center or the library or your home another successful place that I’ve taught craft parties is online I taught lots of online craft parties using zoom and these include both public and private craft parties when I teach online craft parties I just have to choose crafts that are lightweight I always keep my um package to one pound or less because after a pound shipping goes way up a third way to teach craft parties is to focus on local businesses and market for team building events these include like doctor’s offices orthodontist just lots of businesses that have a lot of support staff I’ve even done a private craft party in one of those showrooms where they have all of the kitchen appliances and home you know improvement stuff like lighting and everything and we were in the fake kitchen section doing a bath bomb party for all of their staff that was a pretty fun venue and the fourth place that I also teach crafts is actually at craft fairs I spent many years doing the craft fair struggle selling my products at craft fairs and not that I didn’t make money but as you know a lot of people go to craft fairs to look around poke around and make comments about how great your stuff is and then walk on by now when I go to craft fairs I always take a little project that people can make and take right there at my booth usually something like mini sand art terrarium something small that everybody can make pretty quickly with very little instruction the best thing about doing a little craft project at your craft booth at a craft fair is that you not only make money while you’re there on you know people buying the little craft to make but it’s a great way to advertise for your craft parties for public or private craft parties and it creates so much excitement at your booth where people are stopping to do this craft they’re having a good time they’re laughing and having fun just like they do at a craft party but it takes a crowd to draw a crowd so as soon as you have people there having fun the energy is just magnetic and it really does draw attention to your booth and having them there making the craft is also a great opportunity for you to grow your know, like, and trust get them on your newsletter list just build that report and show them all of the awesome things that you brought to sell I know that was a lot of information really fast but those are the ways that I teach craft parties and the ways that I help new teachers get started teaching craft parties you don’t have to do all of those things but those are the four options the four different ways I like to teach craft parties and of course we have teachers doing a little bit of everything in the club if you wanna grow your craft business by adding in craft parties join the wait list follow me for more and I will see you soon
