Sipping and Pairing: A Wine Tasting Adventure

Our first one is a Chardonnay. This is gonna be a real treat for you. Okay? This one pairs very well with shrimp and grits. And with that shrimp and grits, you have a chardonnay. We’re just gonna give you a little taste. This actually opens that wine up for the bouquet inside the glass. Now smell it. You want to take a little bit in your mouth. You want to add oxygen by sucking it up through that and I’ll show you. I don’t like a man telling me to slurp. Tastes a little smoother. Yeah, I guess so. It takes a little getting used to. Oh yeah, it takes some getting used to. Chug, chug, chug. No, sip, sip, sip. Okay, so slow drinking does not come naturally to me. When do we get to the food part? When you’re growing up in Italy, you pair your wine with the food. This pairs very well with cheese. Let me get some of that cheese. Air out this cheese. Hahaha! Why did you hit it? Now here’s your wine again. Okay, what’s that? I still don’t like it, but what’s the next one? Damn, this wine is driving my legs on a winter day. When we gonna get to something sweet? So this is wine infused with chocolate. You just need a little bit, you know, after your dinner. Just like an aperitif. There you go, there you go. See, just cause I yell like this don’t mean I Don’t know shit. Do you like it? Yeah, cause it’s sweet. We already picked this up.
