Serbia: A Love Affair with the People and Cuisine

What’s your name? Tommy. Where are you from? New York. What are you doing in Serbia? I started coming here about six years ago, before the pandemic. Friend of mine moved here, invited me to come get to know the place. I figured, you know what, see what it’s like. You know, I figured it would be a one off. I gotta be honest, I fell in love with the place. It didn’t take me that long. You fell in love with Serbia? Yeah. Same here, brother. Yeah, same here. There’s a lot to. I mean, place is beautiful, it’s charming, uh, food is great, people are amongst the nicest I’ve seen anywhere. I’ve travelled around Europe and other parts of South America. These are the nicest people I’ve ever met. This sincerely kind. I’ve been coming back ever since. So you come to Serbia every year? Every year for the last six years. Very six years. So it’s been a couple months a year. That’s amazing. And the people and the food is really what keeps bringing you back. Yeah. What I like is that it brings so many cuisines together. You know, you’ve got your mix of Greek and Turkish and Italian and it’s just totally underrated. And that was a big surprise to me. I can’t put into words. They’re really nice people. It’s the big reason why I keep coming back. I wish Americans would. Would venture out a little bit more towards Eastern Europe in general. You Know, Americans, when they think about Europe, they think of Italy, France, Spain. Serbia is an hour flight from Rome. An hour. It’s a beautiful place and super nice people. You know, if you like Italy, if you like France, you’ll love it here, too. People are. People are even nicer. Nice to meet you, brother.
