Hey, welcome back to Joe knows Volkswagens. Someone give you guys a little tip that I’ve been using for years on these oil fillers that you get from EMP or some other companies. The problem with these is whenever you tighten them down with the supplied gasket, the outlet usually ends up in the wrong position in that area, something like that. And no matter how much you tighten it up, it’s still going to be in the wrong area. So I found a easy solution to that. So when you go through your gasket set, there are these little metal rings, the big ones right there, and those are actually intake gaskets for a single port. You’ll find two of them in there. And this is what I use for a gasket. And I’ll show you why. They fit over there perfectly, for one. But they are crush washers. So when you put it on there, no matter what position it ends up in initially, you can tighten it up and it will end up in the position that you want it. Now, I, like some people put a vent down here to atmosphere. What I like doing is putting it on the backside so I can use a filter on it. If you’re venting it to atmosphere. So after you crush that washer and you get it tight, and this one is marred up a little bit, you probably want to put a rag on that if you’re Going for looks, but I go for function over form. And once you get it in that position, you can slide your little filter right on there, and it is pretty much hidden for the most part. And I like that look better than having that thing here or here and then routing a hose up there. Hope that helps somebody out. That’s what you got to do for empty parts. I know. That’s got to help somebody out out there. Keep on keeping on peace.
