We went to the San Diego Zoo last week to get a look at how they take care of these massive animals. Our first stop was at the Galapagos tortoises. Of course, these babies are massive. 5 to 600 pounds on average, and they have seven males. Next we went on the most beautiful little drive and checked out the capybaras. They were so cute. They’re very, very obedient, and they know that when this bell rings, it means it is time to get some snacks. The babies were adorable, and we Learned that they can actually go underwater for up to five minutes, which I found so surprising, so crazy. These guys had to take a nap. I get it. The elephants definitely had the most enrichment activities available. It was super cool to see what they came up with for these big guys. I love giraffes so much, so being able to be this up close and personal with them was such a treat. We had to make sure that all of our boys were fed, so we headed over to the male gorillas, and we got to assist in getting some lettuce tossed over to them. This was super cool. Gorillas are such amazing animals. So intelligent. We had the best day ever, and we cannot wait to go back and learn more about you.
