People love to crap on the Olympics, but here are five things that the Paris Olympics did right. No. 1. The volunteers. These Olympics had the most energetic, lively, cheerful volunteers who were everywhere and always ready to help. The apps. There were three Olympic apps. One for the schedule, one for the tickets, and one for helping navigate on the public transport in Paris. Third, the signage. There were signs everywhere, all across Paris, and you couldn’t get lost even if you tried. Safety. I’ve been to Paris more than 10 times, and I felt this was the cleanest and safest version of Paris I’ve ever seen, with police and military everywhere, on trains and on streets and in the venues, making you feel absolutely safe and secure. And finally, the venues, which were not only beautiful, but were either temporary or a re jig of the existing infrastructure, making these the cleanest, cheapest, greenest Olympics.
