Voices for Humanity: Advocating for Hostages and Their Families

I am a mother of four sons. I cannot imagine the anguish that people like or and Rachel Goldberg go through every day, knowing that their loved ones are suffering in this inhumane way. Starving, being sexually assaulted, medically deprived, feeling fearful and alone. And yet they are disappearing from the conversation. Haters rip their posters down, protesters talk about free speech, our representatives argue about funding for Israel. And still these opposite people, these innocent people, sit in the dark. On campuses across the country, not one protesting student mentions the hostages. So it is up to us to continue efforts to keep the hostages in front of mind. This is not just about politics. It’s about real human beings. You heard ore talk about his sister having to live with the memory of the brutal murder of his mother and Carmel still being a hostage. Just. Christians, I am asking you, put yourself in Ore’s shoes. Imagine yourself seeing your mother lying dead on the ground. Imagine trying to get through your day knowing that the same murderers are holding your sister captive. Try to imagine living a normal life while waiting for and hoping that your family will be returned.
