This league, the NBL1, it allows players from the NBL to come down and count as an import. So for instance, there could be a really good Aussie player who plays in the NBL and if they played a certain amount of minutes, then they can come down to the NBL1 in their off season. For that reason, sometimes these teams don’t even have import. I saw multiple teams that actually just occupied all Australians. They are very good. So sometimes it makes a lot more sense to these teams. Why don’t we just get an Australian guy? We don’t have to worry about flights, culture shock, accommodation. You can basically just get him, pay him a salary, have a very good player who can achieve similar results or better results to a foreigner.
