I read 12 books in the month of August. So here is my ratings, thoughts and feeling. First up, we have it starts with us by Colleen Hoover. After watching the movie, it ends with us. I definitely just wanted to finish this and read it and hear Lily and Atlas story. I ended up rating it 3 stars. Do you have to read it after it ends with us? No. But if you really like Lil, see anyone here where Lily and Atlas go in the direction that they had in the next book, definitely go read it. Then we’ve got unravel me, the second book in the Shatter Me series. I ended up rating this 4 stars. This is the book that finally I was like, okay, like I’m kind of understanding where the hype is getting. I love all the characters. I really like where the plot is going. Julia is still kind of really annoying uh, hence 5 to 4 stars but everything else is absolutely amazing. Then I re entered my ice hockey era and red collide. I absolutely love this. This is definitely for the fans of the deal by L. Kennedy and icebreaker. It is literally if the deal and the icebreaker had a child together. I ended up rating it 4 stars and I really liked it. I’ve got the bodyguard by Katherine Center. This was 5 stars. This was perfect. It was Grumpy Sunshine and I love that she was the Bodyguard instead of him. He is a movie star love. And it really just gave the tension, it gave the banter. It just was everything I wanted and more. And it was a slow burn and I just really, really loved it. Then I read Deadly Occupants, which I will not be rating because it’s actually my own book. I had to read it this month for final rethrough before it went to print. And she’s absolutely stunning and I really, really liked her. And it is perfect for spooky season and Halloween. It is pretty little liars meets Paranormal Activity. Let me read you the synopsis briefly. A haunted house tour on Halloween night with three of her college best friends takes a twisted turn as Blair barely escapes with her life. The night may have ended, but the horrors are just beginning. Soon after, their own home seems to come alive, making them question if they’re truly alone. As the paranormal activity rises to a fear filled high, Blair discovers that the house isn’t the only thing haunting her, but also her past. Now Blair faces the challenge of solving the devastating mystery of Rissa coming to the same torturous fate. And she’s really fast paced. She comes out 10th of September and she will be on Kindle Unlimited or you can get this really cool paperback copy from Amazon on the tenth of September. And I really hope that everyone checks her out and reads her for Spooky season. Then I read survive the night by Riley Sage on audio book start, rating this 3 stars. Personally not my favourite Riley Sage book. I’m a very, very, very big fan of his work. However, I think that this is more for the suspense girlies and I don’t think I’m a suspense girlie. I want a mystery. This just felt more suspense to me and I just don’t think that that’s my cup of tea. Then we’ve got the body check by L. Kennedy. I ends up rating this 3.75 stars. I really liked it. However, I’m not a fan of third act breakups. However, everything else was absolutely amazing. Forbidden love, it was, her dad owns the ice hockey team and she has a one night stand with him and she doesn’t know that he’s actually on the ice hockey team. You get my drift of where it went. And it absolutely gave everything that I wanted. And we’ve got someone is watching by Kelly Armstrong. Everyone who likes thrillers needs to go read this. Fuck. Sorry to yell at you, but at least put it on your TBR or put it in an Amazon cart. Keep it in your mind. Store this cover in your memory because it was so good. I devoured it in 2 days. I couldn’t put it down. It is an easy 5 stars for me. It gives away a vibe of don’t worry, darling, definitely an out there plot at least I didn’t think so, but I think like other people think that it is more out there, but it was so good. They’re in high school and there’s just something happening. You know something’s wrong. You’re trying to figure it out and you figure it out with them along the way and there’s plot twist, it’s fast pace. I just really couldn’t put it down and I loved it and I will never stop raving about it. Brief pause to talk about today’s sponsorship, aka me. Hi. I know that I just mentioned that I wrote a paranormal thriller, but I also wrote a romance series called error freaking fate. She is a enemies to lovers, a found family who did this to you? It’s got mermaids, dragons, griffins. It follows a princess who runs to the Faye to ask for help to free her oppressed people only to find out that she needs to save not only the entire Faye race, all the mythological creatures, but also magic itself. And this is out on Kindle Unlimited. So just definitely go give her a shot if that sounds up your alley. I’m just putting her in this video and mention her just in case someone listens to this and I go, that sounds really interesting and I go and download her on Kindle Unlimited or if you like these stunning covers, you can get her off of Amazon and the second book you need tissues for. Okay, that’s it. Back To the video. Then we’ve got Hell House. I end up rating this 2.75 stars. It was a really interesting and unique take on paranormal and hauntings and haunted houses and it had a really, really cool concept and I really liked all of that. It did keep my interest throughout. I really had a good time reading the book. However, it was so sexualized for no reason. It made made me feel very uncomfortable. There was so many things that turned sexual for just no need. It was just so icky in a way. The concept is really cool though and I have very conflicting feelings cause I did enjoy it, but there was so many times where I was like, why is this happening? Like why is this being sexualized right now? But if you guys want to give it a shot, for over 20 years, Belasco House has stood empty. Its shattered walls have witnessed scenes of almost unimaginable horror and depravity. Two previous expeditions to investigate its secrets met with disaster. The participants destroyed by murder, suicide or insanity. Basically a group go back to investigate it again. It was very interesting. I just don’t understand why it was so sexualized. So we’ve got the last widow by Karen Slaughter, which I’ve read on audiobook and I really enjoyed it. I ended up rating it 4 stars. I have not been a fan of Will Trent books in the past, which is just the character interconnected. Standalone type feel. But this was so fast paced. There was something happening literally every single chapter. I didn’t want to stop listening to it. I kept doing things around the house so I could keep going and listening on my audiobook. And it really is just so amazing. And the audiobook was fantastic. The narrators did a phenomenal job at it. And I just really liked it. Another book that I listened to was consider me. I, I really regret listening to it on audiobook. I think that this is one that I probably just should have read physically. However, I ends up rating it 3 stars just because they got together so quickly. If you guys really like reading, they get together within the first like 100. Hundred and fifty pages. Absolutely for you. They did such amazing, cute, incredible things together. Their relationship truly was cute. So don’t get me wrong. But I personally just really like slow burns. I want the tension there. And there was tension in the beginning. It was such good tension. It was forbidden love. It was her best friend’s partner’s best friend and teammate. And obviously, I’m really back in my ice hockey era. So I did enjoy it. I just think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I read it on paperback version instead of listening to it now. The best for last, we have the fake out. I devoured this book. I loved it. It is 4.25 stars. Honestly, I, it really should be a 5 star and I rated it 4.25 stars. The tension, the slow burn, it was there. It was perfect. They were fake dating. Her ex boyfriend just joined the team and she’s a physio and she was assigned as his physio and to like get back at them and to like push him away. A fake date. I loved it so much and I really was hesitant just because I tried to read the first one. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in my ice hockey era yet, should say again, but I didn’t particularly enjoy that one that much. I soft dnf’d it. I’m definitely gonna go back now. But this one, I loved it. It took me by surprise and I absolutely smash through it. And that is it. Those were the 12 books I read in the month of August, which I cannot believe we are going into September, which is actually my birthday month. My birthday is in a couple days, but that is besides the point. Thank you so much for watching. Mwah. Bye.
