Introducing the West African Gaboon Viper: A Rare Beauty from the Togo Region

Have you ever seen a BBG or my big black Gaboon Viper? So this is the darkest complexed Gaboon Viper that I have. This actually comes from the northern range of the Gaboon vipers in Africa. This is a West African Gaboon Viper from a probably more than likely around the Togo area. Absolutely beautiful. Look at the contrast on the head. Just so dark complexed with them golden eyes. I’m going to try to get some good close up shots. We got to be mindful. This is one of the fastest striking snakes on the planet. And they have some of the longest fangs with a very toxic venom. So you would not want to get hit by that little head right there. Very beautiful snake. We did just acquire this animal, so we’re still setting up the enclosure. I just wanted to get a few good pictures to enjoy the beauty because really this snake is purple in real life. It is crazy how dark complected it is. Just gorgeous. I love that contrast. Compared to my other gaboons, this is. This one’s special. So I’m gonna go ahead and put her back inside this tub.
