Dollar Tree DIY: How to Make a Giant Christmas Ornament Using Bowls

I used two of these bowls from the Dollar Tree to make this giant Christmas ornament. Let me show you how I started this project off by painting the two larger bowls white and then the smaller bowl gold. That’s gonna be the top of the ornament. After all that paint dried, I went ahead and photo distressed all of the bowls. For the white bowls, I’m just brushing on some brown paint, and this is really going to bring out all those pretty details that’s on the bowl. For the gold bowl, I just brushed on some black paint to make it look antiques, and then I wanted to give it a rusty look, so I added some Mod Podge in random places, sprinkled on some cinnamon, brushed off the excess, and then added a clear top coat so none of that cinnamon falls off. I drilled a hole in the bottom of one of the white bowls, and then in the bottom of the gold bowl. I took some thick jute wine, and I pushed those two ends through the top of the gold bowl, leaving a loop on top. I tied a knot to secure it, and then push those two ends through the bottom of the white bowl. This is just gonna make sure that it’s nice and secure when you hang it. I used quick dry Gorilla Super Glue to attach that golden piece to the white bowl, and then I use that same glue To attach the two white bowls together. After all that glue had cured, I added my finishing touches, and now it’s ready to display for the holiday season. I’m definitely gonna be making these in more colors and different sizes, so stay tuned.
