You’re not a hackathon winner unless you got first place. Everybody nowadays puts that they’re a hackathon winner if they want some money. Like it does not count. If you want $250 and got third place, that is not a win. Don’t get me wrong, you should definitely still be going to hackathons, and it’s a great way to build projects and meet people. I definitely encourage it. Just don’t be one of those people who says that they’re like an 18 x hackathon winner when in reality they might have won literally none.
