So I’m ready to talk about something that I’ve been working through for a while on my own. My difficult boss journey in Black Myth Wukong. I’m a married man with three kids and a full time job outside of this content creation stuff, so sometimes it takes me a little bit with a big game like this. But I am finally ready to talk about my difficult boss journey. Journey. Full transparency and honesty on which bosses I bodied and which ones packed me up like a can of tuna. Y’all already know this dude was a problem. Blacksmith Wukong’s tree Sentinel skill check had me sweating for about an hour. Definitely had me in the double digit deaths maybe like 10 to 12 times. Bro sent me through the meat grinder. We got him though. And that blue baby headbutt is still one of the best spirits in the game. Most of the Chapter 1 bosses though, had it coming. Packed them up, packed them up, packed them up, packed them up, and send them on their way. Three tries or less. Call me the electrician, cause that was light work. But then the white clad noble said enough of that. Definitely not the hardest boss, but I wasn’t ready for his speed. Quickest boss up to this point and had me feeling it. This boss took me eight tries. Then right after that I got tossed into the black bear fight. And honestly, I love this fight. I thought it was awesome. And I had this bear’s number cause I made this black bear my big. Sorry, got a little excited there. Send him to the shadow realm in three tries. Then I rang the three bells and got teleported to the shadow realm myself and found another big baby. But I wasn’t about to let another one of these dudes embarrass me. I also loved this fight. Thought it was really creative. And this one only took me about four tries. And the last boss of Chapter 1, the Secret Red Long. And again, this fight was amazing. Huge reward to find this secret because this one was a spectacle, and I’m always down to fight a giant dragon. I was in a flow state for this one. First try on my mama. There were more bosses in chapter 2, so I’ll just focus on just a few notable ones. The Tiger Vanguard. I know a lot of y’all had trouble with old Tony the Tiger here, but I can honestly say I fed old boy his frosted flakes with his bib on and went on my way in four tries. Super fun fight. The stone vanguard. Easily one of, if not my least favorite boss fights in the game. Not because he was difficult, but because I felt like I was doing no damage to him and the fight just dragged on forever with nothing really exciting going. Another secret boss, the mad tiger. And This dude came out hot out of the gate and steamrolled me twice. But his attack pattern wasn’t too difficult to figure out, and I fed him his breakfast on the third try. All the tiger fights in this game have been great. We gotta talk about Foo Band. The giant beetle, the secret boss was another huge spectacle. And the second phase where you and the Yellow Wind Sage team up to fight him together was a major highlight of the game so far. And then right after we take big boy down together, I gotta fight dude on my own. And I should have known, bro. I should have known. I’m not gonna sit here and act like this was a cake walk for me. I’m confident in who I am as a man. This dude had me calling him daddy. My goodness. Destroyed me harder than a Taco Bell beefy five layer burrito. I don’t even know. I spent like two full hours on them alone. Props to those of y’all that didn’t struggle with wind sage, cause I definitely did. Chapter 3 now. Chapter 3 has blown my mind. Anyone saying that the game is too linear, I feel like you’re telling on yourself cause we now know that you didn’t make it past chapter 2 cause there is so much here. First major boss of the chapter, king Jin long. A big dragon fight on a frozen lake. Come on, bro! That’s. That’s awesome. This fight Was definitely tough. Took me seven tries, but I packed them up and send them on a first class trip to Belize. Then things go downhill fast. Don’t even get me started on the pagoda realm. I’m not even gonna waste my breath and talk about anything that went down in this section of the game. Block it out of my memory. Once we got back up on the surface though and fought king Gin Star, another awesome fight. All the lightning everywhere. She was a challenge, but no more than five tries. Cayenne, long though humanoid dragon. Lightning sword wielded mother. This fight was hard, but it was one of those where I was confident and learning every time that he beat me, and it didn’t feel cheap or anything. Took me a solid 10 tries, but I love this fight. Gave me my favorite staff of the game. It was all worth the challenge. Then I rolled up on this dude with his hands tied behind his back and I was like, nah, you ain’t gonna disrespect me like that. You’re gonna need all your limbs. But no bro could use those feet to get rich on the internet cause them things was lethal. 6 tries though and he was done. Fox quest where you end up fighting the teleporting monk, non void. First five tries I couldn’t really figure out how to pin him down cause he kept using that face shift and just breaking right out. Of my immobilize and the super long run back to the boss fight was actually the worst part about this. But eventually I just spammed all of my abilities pretty much one after the other and gave him no time to breathe. Hit him with that Trinity Matrix, dodge this one liner, and he was done. And then the last one I did before I just couldn’t stay up any longer. Last night was secret boss Yin Tiger and you have to challenge Old boy to a fight. And he knew he meant business. My guy was relentless. Someone that bulky has no business moving as fast as he could and that many times. Over and over and over again. But after 16 dirt naps, finally got him and can now utilize him as a spell. Honestly, another wonderfully designed boss fight that was worth the challenge. I’m not quite done with chapter 3, but I know I’m getting close, so that is my boss journey recap for black Myth Wukong. There’s just no way any other game is gonna come out this year that I’ll enjoy more than this. Black myth Wukong for game of the year! Let me know in the comments your favourite bosses so far and which ones had you sweating.
