Reflections of Light: Exploring Metaphors in Genesis and John

You see, the metaphors in Genesis Chapter 1 are very intentional when it says that he created greater light to rule the day and the lesser lights to rule the night. So what makes the moon, for instance, a lesser light? It is that it does not have light in itself. The light that it has is but a reflection from the sun. But the sun has light in itself. It doesn’t depend on any other light source. Now, this is where I am actually going, because if god is the sun, who are we? We are moons. Look at John, chapter 1. Do you know what verse 4 says? He says, in him was life, and the life was the what do you see? The illusion to the moon or not see? I am telling you that there are some things in nature that god on purpose created to tell us something deeper about the realm of the spirit. And that is why the Bible says in Romans chapter 1, he says, the invisible things about god are clearly seen in the things that he has created so that man is without excuse. So by looking at the things god has created, there are some deep mysteries about the realm of the spirit. And one of them is what I’m showing you. He’s the true light that lights every man that comes into the world. Listen to me. In case you did not know, it is your destiny to Image a spirit. You are the moon and you are a source of light. God wants to beam his light through you. Not only is that what he wants, that’s your destiny. That’s through you all will see the glory of God. Can you say loud amen? Amen.
