I think this might be one of my favorite horror movies of the year so far. I know I’m late, but I just watched the First Omen now that it’s on Hulu, and here’s my spoiler free review. For those who don’t know, this is a prequel to the omen, and it revolves around a woman beginning a life of service in a church in Rome when she begins to discover mysterious things that make her question her faith. I know this plot has been done before, but I do think it stood out from the rest. It had some genuinely shocking and scary moments. I was a fan of Nail Tiger, Free, and servant, and this movie made me love her even more. She’s so underrated. I do need to note that I think it’s wild how similar the plot was to Immaculate. I saw that one first, so as I was watching I was definitely comparing the two and I honestly liked both. But I will say that this one was more developed and detailed in my opinion.
