In an extremely tragic set of circumstances, a U S. College gymnast was found gunned down and unalive next to her college campus. Twenty one year old Kara Wells was a star athlete for her college, university of Wisconsin Whitewater, having won a national title on the vault in her junior year. She also competed as a floor specialist. Needless to say, Kira was enormously talented and she had possible Olympic potential. Unfortunately, those dreams were cut short when 21 year old Kira Welsh was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds near campus shortly before midnight. Police arrested a 23 year old man and charged him with first degree intentional homicide. Police said in a statement it was determined through investigation that leading up to the shooting, an altercation had taken place between the two. The investigation is ongoing and police are urging the community to come forward with any relevant information. A gofundme has been set up for Kira’s family, describing Kara as a sweet girl whose life was cut short by a heartless, senseless act of violence. Tragic and truly unfortunate. That’s just my opinion.
