Unless you live under a rock in the pop culture world, you likely have been hearing the rumours that Sabrina Carpenter’s newest release talks heavily about Camila Cabello. Because of Sabrina’s on again, off again relationship esque with Shawn Mendes. Because of these headlines, we’re gonna be talking about Camila Cabello today and her friendship with Taylor Swift. Before we hop into the timeline, listed above are the people we’ve already covered in this playlist. On the right side, people I plan to cover. And then at the bottom, people that are frequently requested that I’ve already done in other playlists. And then one disclaimer for this one, Camilla. Very much so. Like, Taylor did wipe her Instagram. So while a lot of this focuses on Taylor in the early days, it’s only because I cannot find pictures of what Camilla has posted. So I’m not avoiding it, they’re just really hard to find. The earliest thing I can find starts in March of 2015, when the two are seen getting dinner together. That same month, they’re photographed together at the I Heart Radio Music Awards. Taylor throws Camilla a birthday party. You can pause here to read the original caption from her Instagram. The next month, they are seen getting dinner together again. Taylor then takes to Instagram to post that photo and another one talking about their matching prints. While I could not find the specific tweet, in July of 2015, Camila Cabello makes a post saying that she Really enjoyed attending the 1989 World Tour as a guest. Which brings us to August of 2015 when Fifth Harmony is brought on stage by Taylor to perform their song Worth It moving into January of 2016, Taylor makes multiple posts on Instagram that feature Camila, such as seen here and here. Next month, they are seen attending grammy’s after parties together. Next month, Taylor posts a photo from the birthday party last year to celebrate Camila Cabello’s birthday. In October of 2016, she is seen attending Taylor’s Halloween party. Taylor then largely disappears from social media. However, she does surface again in September of 2017 to comment on Camila’s live and pause to read her comment here. And then moving into March of 2018, Taylor does an interview with I Heart Radio where she talks about her nickname for Camilla, Baby C. That’s been her nickname ever since I met her cause she just kind of bounds through life this like endless ball of energy. In may of 2018, they attend the Billboard Music Awards together. That very same month, the Reputation Stadium Tour kicks off. Camilla is an opener and also comes out every night to perform shake it off. October, they attend the American Music Awards together. Then in December of 2018, Camilla does an interview with Billboard where she talks about how Taylor Swift is an inspiration to her and also her friend. Here’s the full quote. 2019 when Taylor performs at the American Music Awards, she Does bring out Camila as a guest star alongside Halsey. Camila has since erased all of her social medias and started over. She did post this caption on Twitter about the artist of the decade performance and how proud she is of Taylor and how lucky she is to be her friend. August of 2021, Camilla does an interview with bustle where she talks about Taylor’s friendship and how supportive she is as a friend. And then things are largely quiet until may of 2023, when Camilla is seen attending the ERA tour, also photographed shortly after that by paparazzi, seen wearing ERA tour merch. Then most recently, back in June of this year, she went on Apple 1 Music where she talks about a lot of different things, especially around her newest album. However, Taylor does come up a few different times. You know, I. I also, like, Love Taylor. I was, like, the fucking biggest Taylor fan, and then she, you know, became my friend a few years after. Yeah. Yeah. And so I wanted to say, I think it also surrounding yourself with people that are at that level, like Taylor or Drake or, you know, it’s like, it really just elevates you, even on a subconscious level. Like, just, you know, watching them do what they do or. Or, you know, talk about things, you just kind of. There’s something about their energy and their confidence, um, and their wisdom from just, like, doing it, so. Long that, I think just kind of, like, pulls your game up. And later in the interview, she mentions Taylor again when she talks about masterful songwriting. I think it’s very clear that the two are on good terms. And I also wanna add in that anything that did or is going on between Sean and Sabrina or Camilla and Sabrina or Camilla and Sean, I don’t think that’s impacting their friendship whatsoever.
