Top Five Enchanting Fragrance Notes: A Perfumer’s Perspective

My top five notes within perfumery. And usually when I come across these notes in perfumes that I’m discovering, I tend to enjoy them a lot more. At No. 5, I love rose. Rose is such a beautiful fragrance note. It can be used in a lot of different ways. It can be sweeter and deeper, or it can be lighter and fresher. One perfume I think does rose brilliantly is 3:03 by bond, no. 9. It’s a peppery rose, and it has a real, you know, gourmand, addictive quality to it. Feels almost edible, but it’s nice and mysterious at the same time. Every time I wear an all black outfit, I want to reach for bomber perfume 3:03 because I feel more mysterious. No. 4, we have, uh, incense. Now, incense, to me, is quite a calming, smoky, resinous fragrance note. At whenever I wear an incense perfume, I normally have a more relaxed day. And, you know, incense fragrances, to me, have such a addictive nature. Specifically Tyrannosaurus Rex by zoologist. I feel like I can’t stop smelling that fragrance. I just wanna smell myself all day when I’m wearing that perfume. Okay, it’s extremely strong, but I enjoy perfume notes that are overdosed. At No. 3, we have patchouli, and there is no better patchouli than Sticky Fingers by Francesca Bianchi. Patchouli can be warm and humid and green, but it can also be almost chocolatey, quite decadent, and I feel like that decadence is captured. Within sticky fingers, brilliantly No. 2, no surprise, we have sandalwood. You know, sandalwood is such a precious material. It’s so expensive, and it has to be aged a real long time. So a lot of fragrances use javanol, a synthetic sandalwood material, instead, and it smells like an overdosed version, a strong, powerful version of sandalwood. And obviously, Autopirize Burger Mask, my No.. 1 fragrance of all time, has a overdose of sandalwood. Javanol. I’ll still record. I’m still recording. At No. 1, we have chocolate, and specifically dark chocolate, almost like a raw cacao. And I think no fragrance does it quite as well as Nashi Matto. Pardon? It’s smoothed through with oud and incense, and this fragrance almost smells holy. It’s such a relaxing perfume and smells so decadent and beautiful. It’s a masterpiece. What are your top 5 fragrance notes?
