Tutorial: How to Remove Borders and Create a Distressed Look in Canva

Hey, y’all. So he’s been asked a couple times under my video, how do you remove the border? Um, after you’re done with your design. So the first thing you want to do is save your design. After you’re done designing, adding the borders, you’re gonna save your design, and you’re gonna reupload it back into Canva. Once you reupload, you’re gonna add it to your canvas like this. Then you’re gonna go to edit, then you’re gonna go over to Magic Studio, you’re gonna select magic grab. I have mine on click, so I can just click what I wanted to grab. So I like to start at the top when I do these. So I just made one click and then grab half the design. That’s way easier to me. And then we’re going to select the rest of the design. So it’s not gonna be perfect. Like, sometimes it might not grab everything, but you’re trying to get that distressed look anyway, so I really don’t care about it being perfect. Like, some parts, it did not grab. But what I can do is go to brush and just fill in those spots that didn’t grab. Like this. Fill in the spots that are being grabbed. This little spot here. Once I have it to my liking, I want to select grab, let it do its thing. So now we’re going to remove the black background, and we’re going to change the background to black side. So Y’all can see it better. And this is what we have. So you still have that look. We do have a little spot right here that it didn’t completely grab, but that’s fine. You can leave it like that if you want to, or you can go back and fix it. And I do one thing. I do not recommend trying to do this with Background Remover because it’s not gonna work right. I made that mistake before. And also another tip. I said this is another one of my videos, but if you’re doing sublimation, you can add the white grunge borders and you can just print like that, cuz sublimation does not print white. Anyway, I hope this tutorial helped and answered your question.
