I just did a little vision of my closet and turns out in the past couple of months, my housekeeper destroyed 30 k worth of my clothes. How is it possible? She just washed very gentle pieces of Gucci, Fendi, Chanel in a washing machine. I have a rule. If my employees make any mistake that cost my business money or waste my money, I never extract this amount from their salary. When situations like this happen, I first ask myself, did I give my place all the information and all the tools so this situation wouldn’t happen? For example, my housekeeper has a task to wash my clothes. That’s exactly what you’ve done. She washed my clothes in a washing machine. I did not show her all of this expensive pieces and I did not say, hey, all the stuff is very gentle. Here’s the money for the dry cleaning. Can you please drop it off there? So it’s a fully my fault. My employees aren’t obligated to guess what they supposed to do. It’s my job to tell them. So we had the conversation. I explained what she has to do starting right now and it’s not going to happen again. And obviously she did not destroy my clothes on purpose. And if I would be charging her for her mistakes as other employees do, she’ll be working for me for free for like three months and she’s a single mom in New York. Like it’s fucking hard here. And just because I’m a millionaire doesn’t mean I have like no heart. Do you think it makes sense?
