Unveiling World of Warcraft’s Built-In Mini Map and the Benefits of Early Access

Some of you guys wanted to know about this mini map here. A lot of people think this is an add on or something like this. First off, it is not an add on. You hold shift, you hit M. This has been here in world of Warcraft since vanilla. It’s actually works in battlegrounds, works in dungeons, works pretty much anywhere. It will change to your overall map no matter what you’re doing. Yeah, it’s been there since classic. If you mouse over it, you can actually see it’ll say zone map. You right click on this, you can unlock it. You can move it anywhere you want to on your screen and then relock it there. You can also change the opacity to make it look like whatever you want. I usually keep it about halfway through. Yeah, not an add on. Not an add on, not a mod. It’s just part of the game. And now, you know, enjoy. Early Access has been helping with the launch. Ever seen such a smooth expansion launch? Bingo. You know what Early Access does? There’s two things that it does. 1. It gives the studio more money. Obviously they’re gonna do that. And two, the other thing that it does is it makes it so that server capacity issues are a thing of the past. Because it’s going to split the community between. Some people are gonna be in early access, which means it’s not gonna be massive amounts of Server capacity issues and some of the people are not gonna be early access. By splitting, the community doesn’t have problems with launch. It is a better thing for that. But it comes to the cost of pissing off your player base. So you gotta be realistic about it. Is this correct for the game? Subjective. Is it better for the performance of the servers? 100%, absolutely.
