Navigating the World of Bibles: A Comprehensive Guide and Personal Recommendations

Let’s talk about Bibles. Starting the Bible can be hard. A lot of people don’t know the difference in translations which one to start with. And unfortunately, there is a lot of influence from other Christians, and not in a good way. I’m gonna explain which Bibles that I personally use and study from. First and foremost, my favorite Bible is the NIV Life Application Study Bible. It’s the first one that I ever read front to back, and it has very good explanations in it. When you read your scripture, it has scripture like normal, and then the very bottom of the page, it will have a life application part. When people start, I often say, NIV, NLT, ESV. Those are my three go to’s when you are first reading the Bible. And the reason is the translations are easier. Now, a translation means you’re taking one word that has fallen out of our language and you’re changing it to the same meaning of the word that we use today. It’s baffling how many people don’t know that. But when you’re first reading the Bible, it is so much easier than starting in a King James, where you’re gonna get caught up in words. Whenever you are reading a book, if you’re reading it and you get caught on the words that you don’t understand or the words that you’re trying to process the meaning of, then it takes away from you interpreting and understanding the Bible. Now, the Bible is a living, breathing word of god. So you’re gonna read it and you’re gonna have a different experience with it than anyone else. So you need to make sure that it’s a Bible you can comprehend. Alright? So that was my very favorite. I still read in it every single day. Now, if you’ve already read the Bible and you’re looking for a step up, something just a little different, a little more complex, this is a chronological order life application study Bible. It is a King James. It goes in chronological order, which a lot of people also don’t know that the Bible is not in chronological order. So this is pretty cool, especially when comparing the Gospels, because it will have Matthew, Mark, Luke and John on one page. And I also Learned a whole lot with it, such as the book of job is really in the beginning of the Bible. They also have chronological order Bibles in different translations. So if you didn’t want the King James, you could find a translation you can understand better. But it also has the life application part that helps you understand it better. This is just an extra study. You can buy these without the extra study and just do it on your own. I really like the extra part. It’s kind of like preaching. This is the 1611 King James Bible as a 400 year anniversary edition. I only study in this when I am being Real serious. It is gigantic. It weighs a ton. But it is really beautiful. Show you the family trees. That was one of my favorite parts in here. But it’s just a really pretty and really historical Bible. It was the first King James translation. Now, let me talk to you about King James translations when that was translated in 1611. That Bible still has the missing books in it. the missing books are some books that were removed in the 16th century for a lot of different reasons. Sometimes they were reasons that were valid, sometimes there are reasons that were political. Same group of people who think you should only read the King James versions of translations are also the same ones who will say that the missing books are bad, which is hilarious because they were in the original King James Bible. But anyways, you have to do your own research on all of this, and you have to go with the Holy Spirit. I will say that you need to have read the entire Bible before you go seek the missing books. They’re really not crucial, but it is also extra knowledge to have. Here are the two that I like to go by, though. This one is the missing books of the Bible. It is off of Amazon, and it has the Apocrypha, the book of Enoch, the book of the Jubilees, Mary and Philip. And this is the book of Enoch. I also Have a Geneva Bible and an Ethiopian Bible. Those are before the King James Bible, and I really like to see and compare. But again, those are like advanced. You don’t want to seek any of the older Bibles unless you’ve read the entire Bible first. The most important thing is for you to read the 66 books that are in the Bible today. If you want a cheap route and you just want to start the Bible with some basic study, this is an NIV Basic Study Bible. You can get it on Amazon for like 12 bucks. This is your Teen Options. NIV bible for teen guys. As far as teen girls go, I go with the Life Application Study Bible the girls. And for kids, I really like the adventure Bible. I also like the Bible made easy for kids. It’s the one that I put on my stories a lot. And it is on Amazon very, very cheap. Again, especially for the younger crowd, you’re gonna wanna go with NIV, ESV, or NLT because if you try to give them a King James Bible, more than likely they will never read it. You’re talking to a generation that says bruh and no cap and bussin and things like that. They’re not gonna read thou shalt nothing. Make it a little easier on them and find something that they can actually read. Though I try to make this as simple as I can because I want everybody To read the Bible. It changed my entire life, and it can change yours, too. All the Bibles that I talked about today, aside from my older ones, are LinkedIn. My bio underneath the Amazon tab. You’re never gonna read the Bible if you don’t start. So pick one up, start to read it, and learn a little bit about Jesus. Show him you’re seeking him, and when you do that, your life will change. And one last thing. This is mainly for the older generation, but don’t ever bully anyone or make them feel less because they don’t like the translation you do or because they prefer a different translation. That is the enemy’s work. Because it’s keeping people from the Bible. So many people who want to shove their opinions of what translation on others are keeping them from reading it. They’re making them think that the Bible might not be accurate. Or maybe that translation and all other translations except the one they choose are bad. And that is not the case at all. Usually the people that say that have no knowledge of why we have translations. We could not read the original scrolls. So we thank the Lord that he made different translations that we can read, that he can reach us in all of our different languages, in all of our different cultures. His word can reach us no matter how old, no matter how young. He has different variations of the Bible that Can reach us and speak to us. So just remember to encourage, not discourage. And decide to start today. I hope this helps somebody. May god bless you. And I will see you soon.
