Rachel Gunn, aka Ray Gun, will be making her first sit down interview television debut on this Wednesday’s episode of the project. So she’s gonna be sitting down, talking about the whole fiasco that happened at the Olympics. Here’s the thing. Now, if you remember correctly, she entered the break dancing championship representing Australia and shocked many people by her choice of dance moves. She did the kangaroo. At one point, she did the sprinkler. Her total score was 0 0 0, and she stole the stage by becoming the meme of the Paris Olympics. Now, a lot of people were saying that it was not very nice, that people were making fun of her style, saying that she gave it her all. Here’s my take. Um, a lot of people were saying her moves were supposed to be silly, but she also wrote a paper about how she wants to essentially dismantle the misogyny, the colonization of break dancing and the Olympics. So do with that what you will. Uh, to me, she was somebody that wanted to dismantle, break down, make a point, and then write an academic paper on it, which is pretty. I’m pretty sure that’s what she’s going to do. And here’s another thing. People were saying, hey, she was being silly. Grow up. Silly can work in routines. I’ve watched a lot of ice skating. I’ve watched a lot of gymnasts do routines where they do floor exercises or put together dance numbers and They interject silly dances. The thing is, they had skill to back it up. So the silly worked because of the skill. They also had to back it up. I don’t know if she has skill or not, but she didn’t bring it. She got all zeros across the board. If there were skills intermixed in there, that would have made it for entertaining, but it just looked like a mockery. So maybe she has more of an explanation for this, maybe not. But tune in this Wednesday, Channel 10, the project.
