Unpacking the Myth of Firearms at Camp Half-Blood: The Celestial Bronze Conundrum

Camp half blood is packing fucking heat. So this is. So this is probably the last video I make on the subject. Uh, because I realized doing some research that I fucked up. There is actually an in canon reason why they don’t use firearms that often, and it’s pretty simple. But before we get to that, I want to address a couple of comments that I’ve gotten a lot and I just explain kind of where it doesn’t seem very accurate with that what the comments are saying. So let’s. One of the biggest comments is that celestial bronze is rare, and celestial bronze is rare. Um, like imperial gold in so much that it’s more rare than like copper or steel or lead or I guess iron. Not steel. Iron, lead, copper, that kind of thing. Naturally occurring metals. So let’s say bronze is from Olympus, it is mined there, and so it is a finite resource. But all metals are kind of. I guess it could be non finite because Olympus is inherently magical, and it could I guess over time reform just cause it’s magic. He could say whatever he wants about it, but it’s not that rare. The camp itself has a ton of celestial bronze, especially now. Later in the series they have a ton of it laying around. They could in fact make bullets from it. But there’s one issue with that that Rydan wrote in directly into Titans Curse celestial bronze bullets. Disintegrate upon impact. They are a one time use thing, so it is in fact a finite resource. The bullets are finite, um, so you would get one use out of them. My secondary video saying how they could collect the bullets is factually wrong. Uh, that’s on me. I didn’t research quite enough. So uh, yeah, I’m wrong. They could in fact be packing heat. But uh, they would have a finite resource of celestial bronze. Unless of course celestial bronze reforms and they can get a lot of it. And they do have a lot of it. And bullets don’t take a lot to. It doesn’t take a lot of metal to make a bullet. But yeah, at the end of the day, arrows are probably better. But I am curious as to why arrows don’t disintegrate after use, but celestial bronze does. Just cause it’s a magic metal. It’s clearly rare and putting in that. Ah, this is why they don’t use guns that much. It makes sense. Yep. But I fucked up. There you go. I hope you have a good one.
