so forget the hair and like the sweat I was uh doing the exercise bike and sweetie I was with you on this for part of the way until a certain point which I will get to in a moment um first of all absolutely write the book even if you can’t afford an editor um absolutely make your own cover that’s what I did um before I got to where I am where I can actually pay for covers it’s completely legitimate to work your way up now what I don’t like is when in the authors who can’t afford said services don’t do the work to make the book their very bad like do some research okay practice on Canva or whatever program you’re gonna use don’t just slap something together in an hour and call it good enough okay don’t read your book through once and call that good enough you know fix a few things oh good enough no do some research on editing there is a lot of free resources out there that can help you get a decently edited book to the market there are a lot of cheaper covers out there don’t use AI okay don’t use that um but do your research and try to get something that’s at least within the ballpark of your genre why because if you don’t your book won’t sell okay I mean that’s just the plain fact of it it might sell to a few people but if you’re going for and you know you can divine success however you want but if you want to sell more books your book needs to look more like the books that are out there that’s just plain fact of it and I mean I started from you know doing my own janky whatever and worked my way up but the thing is I worked my way up and I Learned and I practice so if you’re gonna do that absolutely fine you know just start where you can but put in the hours okay don’t just half ass it so I’m with you like author shouldn’t gatekeep resources or whatever you know we should help each other and then I got to the part of the video where you mentioned Anne Frank and that’s where you lost me
