From LAX to Tahiti: A Journey Back to the Boat – Travel Adventures and Homecoming Bliss

We are heading out going to LAX to fly to Tahiti. “Back to the boat!” Yay. We drove for two hours, until we got to LAX. There, we said goodbye to our grandparents, who had driven us. We’re checking in our baggage, our first flight will be to San Francisco, but we can send the luggage straight to Tahiti, which is awesome. We went through security very quickly with TSA precheck, and then found our gate just a few minutes later. We had an hour long flight to San Francisco. The views outside were beautiful and we went with Alaska Airlines. The plane was smaller than I expected. Once we got there, we had a four hour layover. I love how airports are always unique. This one had beautiful art decorations. Plus, we could have dinner before boarding the next plane. We ate yummy Vietnamese food. We’re gonna be boarding our Frenchbee flight to Tahiti. The flight was nine hours long, starting around 11:30 PM. It was a large plane and they offered us food twice, though we did spend most of our time sleeping. We exited the plane both tired and excited. We’re officially in Tahiti again, woohoo! There was a welcoming committee that sang for us. The local time was 5 am, so them being there that early was sweet. Then, we got our luggage. Boat parts for us, boat parts for friends, and books! We then found a taxi that drove us to the marina. We’re stepping back onto our amazing boat, Song of the Sea!!! Aliona: “Ah, good to be back.” Home sweet boat!!! It’s 6 am here in Tahiti, and with all of the driving yesterday and the layover, it was probably about 20 hours of travelling; so even though the sun has risen, and it’s technically early morning, we are all going to sleep! Please stay tuned for future posts on the boat!
