Surprising Brazilian Twists on American Cultural Icons: Hot Dogs, Buffet Culture, and Outback Steakhouse

here are some things I thought were distinctly American but are actually like way bigger in Brazil number one hot dogs to me hot dogs like the all American food like I thought that was like very much USA USA yeah yeah yeah like that to me is what a hot dog is Brazil’s like took it to another level like they hotdogs are theirs now everywhere you go and then I thought it was like cachorro quente I thought that was a name no they changed it to Hotchi Doggy so like they successfully claimed hotdog as theirs they brazilianized the name hot dogs are theirs second is buffet culture I thought in the US we had that like down like I thought that was our thing no no no no I came to Brazil and I was like oh oh like like the majority of the places when I go out are like buffets like they have buffets for literally anything you want like incredible did not know this existed and finally Outback Steakhouse like if you put in Google Maps and you’re like oh Steakhouse in Brazil the first 10 that’ll pop up are Outbacks and I was like they’re quite literally everywhere and I was like I thought like Brazilian like in the US we have Brazilian steakhouses and in Brazil they have Outbacks like that’s crazy to me
