Sleek Back Bun Tutorial: Tips for Perfecting Your Hair Style

And that’s it. That’s how I get my perfect slick back bun every time. To begin, you’ll want to have your hair down, obviously. And I look like Hagrid because I just brushed mine out. You don’t have to. Then you want to part your hair in the middle. You need two hair ties. And then this is a slick back brush. This is a dry bar one. I got it from Amazon. There’s also a bunch of other brands, and they have, like, smaller ones, too. Doing bigger ones. I just use this one. This one works for me. And then I use gel. I use the trust me gel. I just like this one. I’ve tried, like, the day one. I have it in my drawer, but I just don’t really use it because it doesn’t work as much for me, cause I have so many tiny little baby frizzy hairs. Just like that. My hair yesterday. So this part is already, like, pretty gelled down, which is pretty disgusting of me, but we’re doing it two days in a row, so you wanna put a generous amount of gel and lather it all over your hands like that. And then I pretty much just go in like this and start distributing the gel all throughout my hair. Kind of, like, try to keep the integrity of my line. So when I have my part, first I start going down on the sides like this, and I start Just slicking it back with the brush. When you’re up here, you kind of want to angle down and around like that. If you’re going for no part, you would just go straight back. Is again down and kind of around. And then these parts, I kind of just go straight back a little bit. You’ll see, like, I still have all these little baby hairs, which I’ll get in a minute. I kind of like to do my ponytail here, because I do mine a bit lower. I don’t really have to work on the bottom part that much. So just to get the other little baby hairs, I’ll do a tiny bit more gel and just do it with my hands. But you wanna make sure you’re spreading the gel well throughout, or else if you have, like, a clump of gel, it’s gonna leave, like, a white streak in your hair. And make sure. That’s why I always go like this with my gel. And now for the bun part, you start twisting it around. Try to make it, like, more compacted. But once you have that, you wanna twist it around your head. You wanna twist it around like this, just, like, pulling it as you go, to try to get it to be, like, tighter. You wanna hold the bun, take your hair tie like this. Sometimes you just have to play with the little hairs. Like, these ones didn’t get in all the way. So I’ll just tuck them under. And if you want an extra, extra slick back, extra stay put of this. Like if it’s raining, if it’s really humid. I usually don’t do this for work, but I’ll show you guys. Take some hairspray. So I use a trust Emme again. I just really like trust Emme products. Wanna grab your little brush again? Or you can use one of those, like, little eyebrow schoolies. You just wanna spray it in ever so slightly. And make sure again, you have to brush this out, otherwise it’ll leave, like, white marks if you don’t brush it. Just brush it. Brush it, brush it, brush it. This looks so cute. So clean, girl. So professional. Also, hopefully I helped you guys. Let me know if you try and how it works out for you guys or if you find a better gel.
