Maximizing Your Savings: How to Use Rewards Wisely and Reduce Out-of-Pocket Costs

Here’s part two for advice from a seasoned couponer. This mistake that I used to make cost me hundreds of dollars, so I don’t want you to make the same mistake. The mistake was looking at your rewards as if it’s real money. So what I mean is for Walgreens cash, it’s a digital reward that you can earn from Walgreens. I used to look at this like a bank account, so I didn’t wanna see the number go down. I wanted to continue to earn more and more and more Walgreens cash, which is great. You do wanna earn rewards, but the point of earning the rewards is to then use them to lower your out of pocket cost. We’re couponing to save our actual money, not monopoly money like Walgreens cash, register rewards, extra bucks, etc. So when I first started, I was willing to pay more of my money out of pocket just so that I wouldn’t lose or use my Walgreens cash, which is really silly. Do not do that. Use your Walgreens cash. Learn how to use your rewards the right way, where you’re still earning some back, but you’re able to use it in the transaction to lower your out of pocket cost. I created a free Walgreens cheat sheet that’s gonna explain to you exactly how to use Walgreens cash, what increments you can use it, how to use it with buy deals versus spend deals, spend boosters, the whole 9 yards. Go to the link in my bio under free resources and get that downloaded. It’s gonna help you a ton and drastically lower your out of pocket cost.
