Unveiling the Legendary Saga of Sun Wukong: From Mythology to Gameplay

Black myth Wukong is finally able to be played among fans, but I’m almost certain you know next to nothing about who Wukong really is. Throughout Chinese literature and mythology, Sun Wukong has been revered as a legendary figure and is a central character in the Chinese novel journey to the west, which was written during the Ming Dynasty. As far back as Chinese literature has it, Wukong was born from a magical stone on the mountain of flowers and fruit. The stone, imbued with the powers of heaven and earth, gave birth to an egg that eventually hatched into a monkey. Early in his life, Wukong became determined to gain immortality and power. To do that, he trained under his Taoist master, who gave him various skills, including the 72 transformations. These transformations allowed him to shape shift into any object and animal he so desired, and the only way he’s able to do this is through his tail. Now, within the story of journey to the West, Sun Wukong’s early life is marked by rebellion. After gaining great power, he declared himself the great sage, equal to heaven and then challenged the celestial order, leading to a series of battles among the heavenly forces. Eventually, the Buddha subdued Wukong and imprisoned him for 500 years, mainly due to his arrogance. After that, he is released and becomes a disciple of Tang Sanzang. Together with a few other companions, they embark on a journey to India to retrieve the Sacred Buddhist scriptures. And throughout this, Wukong serves as a protector, while fighting other demonic beings along the way. So now you know a little bit about blacksmith Wukong before going into the game, which basically kind of just reiterates and shows everything I just said.
