Analyzing the North Carolina Governor’s Race: Contrasting Views on Abortion, Climate Change, and Education

The North Carolina governor’s race is going to be one of the most watched races in the country. So let’s talk about the two candidates and where they stand on key issues. On the issue of abortion, Mark Robinson, the Republican candidate, has stated that he would push for a six week abortion ban. By contrast, the democratic candidate for governor, Josh Stein, has, as attorney general, declined to defend the state’s abortion ban in several lawsuits. he’s also vowed to protect access to abortion medication in the state, saying that no woman should ever have to worry about whether she can get the medication she needs. As for climate change, Mark Robinson says that climate change is junk science and says that he will keep the climate change cabal out of our state. Josh Stein, however, has taken a plethora of actions while in office to protect our climate. On education, Robinson supports defunding our public schools and even getting rid of traditional public schools entirely. Josh Stein supports fully funding our public schools via the Leandro Plan.
