Custom Car Build Update: Welding, Painting, and Turbo Placement Ideas

I know I said I wasn’t going to, but I went ahead and completely finished up. Zip ties, tube, front end. I’m gonna be 100% honest with you guys. The welds aren’t perfect. But you know what? They’re not that bad. Scooby did brush a lot of them already for me. But I mean, for the most part, these are decent weld man. And we did go ahead and start shaving where we welded the plates to. Just so everything looks nice and clean. Whenever this thing gets painted up, my buddy Chaz, you guys may remember him from last year at Mod Nationals, is going to be the one painting it. I’m sure once it is there, we’ll be doing a lot more grinding and sanding and what not. Getting it prep for paint. So I just went ahead and got a head start. Like I said, this thing is completely welded up. It is strong, it is sturdy. When I was live, a lot of people were asking where the engine was. It’s at Wayne’s house. He’ll bring it down when he comes. That being said, I think we’re gonna which things up a little bit. We’re gonna go ahead and drop either that engine or a mock up engine in here. And then start getting all the mechanical stuff fabbed up. Last thing I wanna do is get this thing nice and pretty. And then have to grind the paint off to weld up like a bracket. Or something. So we get all the mechanical stuff taken care of, and then we’ll pull it back out after it’s done, and then send it off to paint. On topic of the mechanical stuff, go ahead and start dropping ideas of where you guys would like to see the turbos placed. Originally, I wanted them, like, somewhere in the center, kind of looking at each other, and then the exhaust going out through the fender. I’m open to any ideas you guys got. Also, you guys have until I get an engine into this car to convince me to do a motor play, because right now I’m on the fence. All the stuff to make that work is just A little bit expensive, and I’m kind of worn out on the fabricating. But if I’m gonna do one, or if I ever think I’m gonna do one, now would be the time to do it. So I don’t know, maybe we will tomorrow. Zip tie goes back outside to hang out in the elements, and then we get flat line, which is Jesse’s car on the rack.
