The Heroes Around Me: A Tale of Love and Loss in Rural China

There’s this new game where you are a single dad raising a sick child, and it’s one of the saddest games that I’ve ever played. If you don’t speak Chinese, you can finally play it in English thanks to the work of two fans. Here’s everything you need to know. It’s set in rural China in the 1990s. You’re a delivery driver who keeps taking long haul jobs to avoid being at home. Maybe because it brings back memories of your lost wife. Maybe because you can’t face the fact that your child is getting sick. But you left them with your grandparents. And now you find that your child has no friends and is getting into trouble at school. It’s time for you to step up and to make things right. But can you save your child in time? This is the heroes around me. It’s only available in Chinese, but there are two fans who made their own English translation mod and that is now being fully implemented into the game by the developers. My playthrough took about four and a/2 hours, but that’s with me doing all of the voices and the commentary as well. And I recommend having tissues with you because this game is absolutely a tear jerker with some really beautiful moments all the way through. When was the last time a game made you cry? Let everyone know in a comment and follow for more games to play!
