The Return of Ja’Marr Chase: Contract Speculations and Practice Updates

Couple theories going around with Jamar Chase returning to practice day. Yes, he returned to practice, but what does that mean? The first theory, which I’ll give maybe a 4 out of 10, is that he’s returning to practice and he’s gonna play whether he gets the contract or not. He could lose up to $500,000 for not playing Week 1 and continue to get fines throughout the regular season. But the reason this one’s only a 4 out of 10 for me is that 500,000 is nothing compared to the massive contract and guaranteed money he’s asking for. If you it was out there and has an awesome game, doesn’t really boosted value. But if he got hurt he would lose way more than that $500,000. The second theory, which I think is more likely 7 out of 10, is that the Bengals are waiting till tomorrow’s Thursday night game to announce the contract. It’s a great PR move because as every NFL fan and the Swifties will be watching this game. And they’ll all have to hear how Ja’marr Chase is now the highest paid wide receiver in the league, even if it’s just by one penny. Now my theory and why he will remain red on my start sit guide which you can pick up for free in the profile, is that until he signs the contract, he is not playing. They could announce it tomorrow. Which is why I gave that theory a 7 out of 10 but they could also try to win three of their first four games. They do play a lot of weak opponents without chase and justify paying him less money.
