Hi, welcome to the Lee premiere. I’m Holly, and I’ll be speaking to some of the cast today. You know, the thing is, Lee Miller’s story was never lost. It just hadn’t been properly found. And so history was sort of defining her in the wrong way, very much through the male gaze. You know, if you googled her, or even if you still do now, you know, sometimes it will come up she was former Muse of Man, Ray, ex cover girl, you know, former model. These kind of infantilizing terms that almost. Well, they do entirely belittle who she actually was and what she went on to do in her life during World War 2 that is so historically important. She was unbelievably courageous. She was a floored middle aged woman, not some newbie who got her US war creditation and went to the front line as a woman. She had to get through all that red tape. She went, she did it, and she printed and wrote about the things she was witnessing, bearing witness to. Well, tonight it is, uh. I’m incredibly inspired by the woman over there and I’m so excited. Kate Winslet. And I’m very inspired to. We’re excited to see her. I haven’t seen her in over a year now, and it was just the most incredible experience working with Kate on this. And she was a great source of inspiration throughout the whole process of shooting this. Absolutely extraordinary. Good question. Uh, my Mother, she is a fighter. You can say a fighter. She is an helper. You know, the. In French, we say helpers, the people who take care of. About people of the family who are. Who are, uh, anticap. And so every day she’s taking care of my dad and my sister since ever. And so to. To see how she fights alone. Like, I tried to help her as much as I can, but I don’t know, for me, she is such a fantastic warrior person. So I would say her. And right after Katie’s lips. Haha. My mom. Wow, that’s a really amazing question. Because when I started in the film industry, there were very, very few women who were doing what I was doing in the technical field. So I had to look to other role models, either people who were in business or people in politics. And, you know, Lee Miller was always someone that I looked up to, and I looked at her work, but I also liked the way she approached life. You know, she wasn’t allowing boundaries to keep her back. No, she’s a risk taker. She’s tries not to be afraid, but to go out there and just do it.
