Overwatch: Finding Joy in the DPS Role – Appreciating the Positive Changes and Looking Towards the Future

Easy to play Overwatch every day and look at it and call it a terrible game and point out every single one of its flaws, I do that all the time. People constantly ask me, oh, is bro ever gonna be happy about something? And today I am gonna decide to be happy about something. I know everybody’s pointing out how miserable tank is right now, and that’s true. And I don’t want to take away from that. But Overwatch honestly has done a good job of getting the DPS role back to where it should be. DPS heroes as a whole are the strongest they’ve ever been in Overwatch, too. CAS is really good. Far is really good. Echo’s pretty good. Reapers not bad. May’s not bad. Venture can be really good. Tracer’s good. So Metro is pretty good. Honestly, she’s quite slept on. There are tons of good characters in the DPS role right now, which feels really refreshing, especially coming off a season of straight hit scan jail. That being said, NERFA, please be so broken.

One thing I don’t like is that I never see people pointing out the good things that Blizzard does. And since Blizzard recently has been showing that they are willing to listen to the community, I’m worried that they’re not gonna hear anything positive. And then they’re just going to make more changes that go in the wrong direction because they don’t know what is actually good right now. So I think it’s important that people point out that DPS and honestly, in my opinion, the support role are both in a good spot right now. If we wanna talk about how to fix tank, that’s completely different issue.
