Memoirs of a Mix VJ: My Audition Experience and Lessons Learned

Mix VJ Mobile before among audition as a mix VJ. Hi guys, my name is Joe. And for quick context, Lang, I was actually talking about how I got to be this eloquent when it comes to speaking in English. So if you guys wanna see that video, make sure to click on this comment. But let’s head on straight to the video. I actually did. And I remember I audition for MTV VJ Hunt and Mix MTV VJ Hunt. I auditioned when I was in my junior year in Miriam College. And I still remember that I had classes right after. So I went really early, nalalajo. I went with like a black pencil skirt with a nude shirt. Banon and Sobra, confident the hall going inside up Town Center because that’s where it was held. I got my number and I waited in line and it’s not too long, the amount of a weight. And I remember setting a really good impression, summer cameraman talaga, cuz I remember that Lucilla cameraman in front of me and we were tasked to read something in the teleprompter in front of us. I don’t remember cameraman because I felt like I really know what I was doing. I really set a good impression. That was a Goleman. But sadly, auditions like these, they never really tell you if or what. But eventually, and I will tell you this, auditions, sometimes it’s purely for a marketing stunt, telega. So I don’t know if this person ever held auditions. So on, let’s go home. For me, it was just like a learning experience and experience that I know that I will never forget till this day.

But I remember not feeling like I failed. I really went because, and then the audition in the Hofer mix, I remember less dropping me off at ABS CBN better. That’s as far as I remember. And then I went inside their studio. I remember being inside their studio and I think I kind of know why I didn’t for mix that time. I could be wrong, but all I remember was when I was reading the teleprompter, Le Mig nalamigo. I cannot explain how cold I was, but all I remember was I was trying so hard not to shiver in front of the prod team.

It was very difficult for me to read the teleprompter. I don’t remember, oh, a person, some dude gave me a jacket. So some, someone, some guy asked me. So I said I didn’t want to be confined or constricted in a workplace where, you know, corporate job device, it was kind of like a 9 to 5 thing and 8 to 4 things. So I don’t wanna be confined or constricted in a workplace that’s like that. Are you long hours? No work. So this dude work long hours. So then everybody was looking at me now as if I said something wrong. So you know how when someone says something like that, even if you have, if even if you’re saying something very genuine and then this one person say something like that, it was plain black and white. I don’t wanna be in the corporate world. I want something that’s in the field, in the studio, in front of the camera. But this guy, I swear this guy I would never forget. This guy really took my statement, took it into a different narrative. But anyway, but who knows? Anyway, audition for mix, particularly mix or MTV, not anymore auditions. They’re really looking for not only with how well you speak, they’re looking for them how you present yourself and how you walk, how you look, how you, it’s the overall package. It’s not like, oh, because are you long? Why?
