When I came to Charlotte, I thought my budget was gonna be 12 dollars for a one bedroom employee. Was I wrong? Now you may not like to hear that, but the reality of it is that most studios in Charlotte are going for 14 dollars. And if you find a studio that’s 11 twelve hundred dollars, it’s either not in a gray area or there’s something wrong with the complex. For example, I know one apartment complex that’s brand new. It’s really nice. Their studios go for about 11 dollars, but they don’t have a parking garage or a gated lot. And they’re in a not so great of an area where I’d trust my car just sitting out. And what a lot of people don’t realize either is the fact that these apartments charge a ton of fees. So sure, that rent online might show 14,15 hundred dollars, but chances are they’re gonna tackle another 50,70,500 dollars in fees. When I came down here and I tour those departments, let me tell you what one of the biggest issues that people have is they come here and knowing they’re gonna make a certain salary, but they don’t know how much they can actually afford. I now pay close to 16 dollars for rent, which I thought was gonna be like super tough to live on, but it’s actually not at all. So if there’s one thing I have to tell you, it’s to up your budget. And if it’s below 15 dollars, you’re probably gonna need rooms.
