From Start to Success: The Journey of an Indie Comic Book

We put the comic out about two months ago. When we initially put it out, I remember having conversations with story in our little workroom, which is like upstairs in his place where he does all his artwork. But I remember telling him, I’m like, man, you think we can be able to sell 200 of these things? And he was like, man, I think we can be able to sell a thousand. And in my mind, you know, I’ve been in sales my whole life. I worked for Google. I’ve worked for like, you know, huge logistics companies. I’ve worked for you other huge tech companies. So I’m just like, man, I don’t know, bro. Sales is always in your mind. You’re gonna sell this many, but cut that in half, then cut that in half and that’s probably what you’re realistically gonna sell. But man, we’ve hit the ground running in these first two months, man, we’ve already sold over 100 copies of the comic book, which I’m extremely proud of, man. We went to an event last week and somebody walked up to my cousin and was like, I saw you on the news. I got the comic book, right. Can I, can I get one? And got one right down the spot, man. So it’s like, it’s really exciting to see it start gaining traction. What I’m really excited about, though, is the next step. So I think what we’re struggling with right now, and as you know, a startup company or as an indie comic book, it’s trying to figure out how we can go from selling a couple hundred copies of the book to selling thousands of copies of the.
