Dancing Like Crash Bandicoot: The Unconventional Journey of Olympic Break Dancer Rachel Gunn

biomedical engineer so when I see athletes at the Olympics take their bodies to the limit of what is possible I live for that and Ray Gunn Rachel Gunn over here Olympic break dancer from Australia took her body to a different level she danced like Crash Bandicoot and I was actually kind of here for it let’s talk about it now hip-hop miss Rachel over here actually scored zero points in all three rounds of her Olympic breaking and I personally think that’s a little unfair considering the way that these dances are scored specifically 20% of the score of Olympic breaking is given for originality of the dance moves chosen and I have never seen anyone dance like her in my life so I definitely think she gets some credit but she also did some dance moves that if I were to get on the floor and try them right now I’d probably pull something or maybe paralyze myself there are studies out there that show that you’re 2 to 2.5 times more likely to experience neck pain than anyone else if you’re doing break dancing regularly now I honestly thought it would be higher than that it turns out that the thing you’re most likely to have pain in doing break dancing are your knees and that’s because knees suck and I hate them I’m a knee hater they’re awful and like the worst joint kind of like our teeth our knee joints evolved to be this sort of consumable resource that we use up although once they’re gone they’re they’re really gone they don’t come back they don’t regenerate naturally that’s just awful design this quote here from her herself sums it up pretty well don’t be afraid to be different go out there and represent yourself you never know where that’s gonna take you it may even take you to the Olympic stage in front of the entire world where you can score zero points by dancing like Crash Bandicoot but you’ll have fun and at the end of the day that’s what makes it hip-hop I’m at I’m Matt don’t forget to follow
