The NBA’s next great rivalry isn’t actually even in the NBA. It’s Team USA vs France. And honestly, I don’t know if Team USA should even be the favorite in 2028. So let’s start with Team USA because there’s already been a lot of talk about who’s going to be on the 2028 Olympic roster. A lot can change in 4 years, but if I had to, here would be my predictions for the roster. Don’t sleep on John Zion. On paper, that’s a good team, but like let’s be honest, it’s not touching this year’s Avengers. Let’s talk about Team France. And it all starts with this man, Victor Wembenyama, and I don’t even want to know what kind of alien evolution this guy’s going to go through by the time he’s 24. But what’s so crazy is that the youth movement in France has reached absolute light speed. Like what happens if Zachary Sashay or Alex Sarr are stars in 4 years? And then throw in Balal Kulbali, another top 10 pick into Jean Salon, and Nolan Traore, France’s point guard of the future, who’s going top 5 in next year’s draft. I mean, man, if you thought France was good this year, 2028 is going to be a whole other story.
