Transformation: Covering Up My Chest Tattoo – A Journey to Blackwork

I’m gonna be getting my chest tattoo completely covered up next month So I wanted to share the process with you guys and here’s what we’re working with now As you can see it’s a really nice tattoo my artist did a beautiful job it was based on an antique illustration It’s just not me anymore and it hasn’t felt like me for a long time. I’ve had it for over 10 years I have wanted to change it because I’m trying to move to all black work for my entire body So here’s what we’re gonna do. Stay tuned I imported a photo of my tattoo and then a bunch of Inspiration images into procreate and I started off with this Sailor Jerry butterfly that I really liked I felt like a butterfly in the end was gonna be the best fit to cover the piece that I have because it just kind Of fit right over it perfectly So I found these blue Norman roses from some of his old flash and put that in But it wasn’t a hundred percent on the butterfly at the end So I found this Zeiss butterfly lady and I really loved the wings and the design on them So I kind of put that with the sailor Jerry butterfly body and then I brought in those blue Norman roses again And I really liked the way that it turned out. I played with a little bit of shading Just to get an idea of what that would look like and then once again, I put it Over the tattoo and procreate to kind of get it a little bit of an idea And I sent this all to my tattoo artist and he thought that it would work great as a cover-up So I’m really excited to get that done next month and share it with you guys.
