Here’s what must be on your paperwork before you drive off in any car. In fact, it should be on there before you even shake hands to accept the deal. On the purchase order, you want the warranty clearly written out of the car. What does that look like? As is, means you have nothing, means you cannot come back, the car’s as is, it could be tomorrow, you’re on your own. Now, some dealers will say, hey, I’ll give you 30 days. All right, 30 days, what’s covered? Only engine, transmission, whatever it may be, needs to be written on that purchase order. Full warranty, 60 days, whatever it may be. You cannot keep leaving dealerships and taking a verbal commitment to the warranty they’re giving you. Do not sign anything before you know exactly what’s covered and what’s not, because that’s gonna put you in a position of weakness. You wanna learn how to shop and get your best deal?
